South Africa has vast landscapes, terrains and many different eco-systems, making it an idyllic holiday destination no matter what time of year you choose to visit. South Africa generally experiences sunny weather with mild rainfall during the year. The weather in South Africa, particularly in the Garden Route can get difficult to predict where one may experience four seasons in one day, so be sure to pack something for hot and colder days.
- December - April are the best times of the year to enjoy hot summer days and take full advantage of the beaches in our area. Temperatures range between 19'C - 35'C.
- May - June are still considered to be average with the weather becoming more chilly, but still not very cold. Temperatures range between 16'C - 22'C.
- July - November is whale season, so if you would like to view these majestic animals along the South African coast, this is the perfect time to do so with August/September being the peak time to view them. Temperatures range between 12'C - 18'C.
- September & October usually brings heavy rains as we transition into Spring and Summer with temperatures ranging between 12'C - 20'C.

Activities & Things to see
We look forward to welcoming you to Mossel Bay - also commonly known as the halfway mark between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, both about 400km to either side. One can almost say it is right on the border of the “greener” ( foresty ) side and the more fynbos / Karoo ( semi desert ) side. The diversity in these two aspects of the Garden Route is what makes our area so unique and a paradise for visitors throughout the year.
Mossel Bay is a fun filled, family destination offering a wide range of things to do. Activities range from lounging in the sun with a locally distilled G&T to heart racing adrenaline sports. Take to the water, mountains, bush, beach or dunes in Mosselbaai.
In Mossel Bay, you will never be short of things to do. Activities are aimed at the whole family and there is fun filled stuff to do for every age and taste.
There are many activities to choose from in Mossel Bay - known for its rich history and pristine blue flag beaches, but also for the great adventure opportunities and the lifelong memories that are made here. The adventure activities are bucket list stuff because of its amazing location. With 320 sunny days a year, you are definitely spoiled for choice.
